European Humanism and Benedictine Monasticism. Around Selected Statements of Benedict XVI

Josef Ratzinger has made the problem of solid foundations European humanism one most important in his scientific and pastoral work. Called to Holy See, he chose name Benedict XVI, indicating Saint Abbot Nursia as special patron pontificate. In this study two valuable statements Pope are discussed, showing relationship between Benedictine monasticism. The first is speech XVI during a meeting with people active culture at Bernardine College Paris on September 12, 2008. second text Crisis cultures, which pensioner presents way life an adequate response contemporary crisis humanism. To seek God place, sensitize conscience trueness, paths freedom, advocates good beauty, calling monks same time, necessary condition for integral humanism, creative development culture.
